This is another illustration made for other exposition in December of 2006. The Cultural Institute of Japanese Studies that I work for, asked me if I wanted to make an illustration of some kind. I liked the classical story about this three characters: Pierrot, Columbine and Harlequin. Pierrot is the sad lover, Columbine is the unreachable woman that wonders what kind of secrets has the mysterious good looking, charming and ladies-man Harlequin.
One of the things that I enjoyed more was researching the dresses that were used in that times and seeing pictures of different kind of representations through different countries of the same 3 characters.
This illustration was drawn with pencil, inked and the scanned for Photoshop painting.

This is a magnificent picture. The colors are wonderful, the layout is great, and it just looks overall fantastic. The style is like a modern twist of a classical painting. Lovely.
